Volume 8, Asylum Nation, and Volume 9, Dread Lord, are being written as one giant novel, but the logical breakpoint between them has been chosen. Even though it is a ‘cliffhanger’, which I hate, I hope I will be forgiven if the two books are released at approximately the same time.
Just to have some metrics, here’s the draft of my WIPs for The Realm Bound:
Volume 8/9 Asylum Nation/Dread Lord: 371K words
Volume 10/11 Slippery Slope/Patriarch Appropriation: 139k words
Volume 12/13 Eternally Lost/Eternally Remembered: 144K words
I have to alternate between the books as they are happening at the same time, with characters crossing over between the storylines. We have not yet had all three main characters in one scene. By the end of this, I suspect that scene will be written.
