My First Author Blog Post!

Greetings! I doubt anyone is reading this, but I am practicing my web page building skills… which start out at basically zero.

A grand Contemporary Fantasy series is being constructed! (I would say Urban Fantasy, however, there are more cornfields than cityscapes. So, does that make it Rural Fantasy?)

The Realm Bound

A crazy cast of characters find themselves intertwined with the magical Realms that lie right next door to our mundane, mortal world. Whimsical themes mix with serious notes, with a liberal sprinkling of bad jokes, sexual antics, and romance. The deep mysteries of the universe are waiting to be revealed.

There are three character arcs running side-by-side in different series within the same universe.

The Touch of Essence follows Jake, Evri, and Annie through their connection to the Essence, a substance that allows mundane objects to become enchanted with fantastic properties.

The Touch of Blood follows Bart, Rose, Tammy, and Rashaad. Bart is the heir to his great uncle’s estate, and this includes a magical book with a lovely, but very spirited, guide named Rose, who he summons to aid him in learning to embrace his family heritage.

The Touch of Eternity focuses on Noralee and Logan. Noralee has been reincarnated almost a dozen times. By day, she is a mild-mannered bar owner. By night, well, whenever they interrupt her, she runs errands for the Angels of Heaven, smoothing out minor kinks in the workings of the universe that just aren’t quite big enough for the Angels themselves to take care of. And Logan is the incubus on the other side of the mirror. Is he simply the momentary indulgence of a lonely woman… or is there far more between them?

As of now, Volume 1 is finalized, with cover art. Volume 2 is nearly finalized, with only tiny future changes planned to synchronize it with the rest of the series. Volume 3, at one point thought to be complete, has been revised and expanded, once I figured out that the backstory that I glossed over was too good to leave untold.

Volume 4, 5, and 6 are also complete, in draft form. Volume 7, 8, and 9 are all incomplete, works-in-progress, as there is so much potential crossover between the three arcs that it would not be practical to write them one at a time.

That is where I am at. Am I mad for attempting to write this style of story? Or is it madness to back down from the challenge? Well, let’s find out!
